Police set to launch 15-day seat-belt blitz

Police across the province, including London, will be cracking down on seat-belt violators for the next few weeks.
London Traffic Sgt. Tom O'Brien said, although police enforce seat-belt laws year-round, the crackdown will help "to specifically remind motorists about the importance of using the seat belt." City drivers have a compliance rate of about 96 per cent. O'Brien said the 15-day blitz will see police taking a zero-tolerance approach to enforcement, adding the lack of a seat belt is one of the top three factors contributing to road deaths.
